Dear NHS…….
Pushing my trolley around a well-known supermarket, I was drawn to a new book entitled: Dear NHS 100 Stories to Say Thank You. It is full of letters written by famous people celebrating those who dedicate themselves to the care of others.
Reading it later on, I found the contribution from Sir Trevor McDonald especially moving. He spoke about the reverence he has always had for doctors and all in healthcare. Speaking about the experience of lockdown he reflects: “In that depressing gloom one light shines as brightly as the morning star – and that light is the selfless commitment and courage of workers in the NHS”.
I’d like to echo Sir Trevor McDonald’s words and honour so many of our parishioners by them. We are deeply grateful to you and always will be.
